Here is a picture of a project using Tru-Brix, a thin brick veneer that needs no concrete foundation. What was originally just 3 4x4 posts supporting the floor above now looks like the foundation of the rest of the house.

Here is a planter I built for a friend last fall. I rented a jackhammer to break up large boulders unearthed when their house was built and made a planter along the driveway. I'm under no illusion that I'm a stone mason, but I enjoyed the project, and I think it looks cool.
It's been a while since I've posted pictures. The last number of months have seen me doing small jobs and working for other contractors. Here are some pictures of a split-rail fence I build this summer.

A Collage of Work I've Done

Pictured in this collage are projects I have completed: The top three pictures show a 500 square foot addition to my own home--demolition as the project gets underway in the summer of '08(left), the finished addition today (center), and the view from the cathedral-ceilinged bedroom.

The center images provide a glimpse of a 5'x13' laundry room addition built for Evelyn High in the fall of '09 (also pictured in the February 17 edition of the North Fork Journal). The limits of the space available (corner pictured on the left) required some creativity to keep the roof line below the existing roof. I took pleasure in being able to help Mrs. High make her home work for her--she no longer needs to make what had become a painful trip for her to the basement to do laundry.

At the bottom left and center are pictures from a bathroom addition, built this winter. And the picture at the bottom right shows my son hiding from the camera on the loft/dresser/desk I built in the last several weeks as a belated birthday present.
